April 12, 2007 It's time to tell you a little bit about the season so far. It's been quite a ride to date. A real tough road to go every night but we feel we are on the right track. We are racing good but not qualifying where we need to be. We get back to some familiar race tracks and that should help tremendously. Eldora this weekend is one of my favorite tracks and then we hit Haubstadt after that and Knoxville. So three of my favorite tracks in 3 weekends to come. I'm excited and hope you will stop by and say hi if you get in the pits. You can also stop by the merchandise trailer and see Angie and Mason. We all go to work and then meet up at the end of the night. Thanks for being a fan and taking the time to be a part of my life. ~Randy~ SEPTEMBER 2006 PENTHOUSE PET, MS. Tampa, FL….2/1/07…..For several years, Randy
Hannagan had been trying to get to the Sprint Winternationals at East Bay
Raceway Park. Something always seemed to come up to prevent that first
appearance….but not this year. He proved that he was a quick learner by winning the
$3,000 second night preliminary 25-lap feature over a strong field of 46
drivers. After timing eighth, for the second night in a row, two drivers who
timed better than Hannagan failed to transfer through their heats, thus starting
him on pole with Danny Smith outside.

As many of you attended the Chili Bowl on Saturday you will know that the crowd was missing a few fans due to the airport closing down with the nasty weather. Also missing was Ms. Kent. Her plane wasn't allowed to land in Tulsa and it got sent back to it's original location. We apologize for this but everyone of you who stopped by was very understanding and we thank you. One only had to look outside and it was clear as to why. Everyone was understanding as we expected and we thank you for that. January 3, 2007

2006 World of Outlaws Season Review: Randy
Hannagan
Randy Hannagan entered the 2006 season very
optimistic and for good reason. His team was very well prepared to take on the
rigorous World of Outlaws Sprint Series schedule. He showed in 2005 that he
was still at the top of his game, competing in over 100 nights of racing,
including many Outlaws events. On top of all of this, he had a couple of good
luck charms with him on the road this season, in the form of his fiancé Angie,
and son Mason, who was born a couple of months before the season opener.
October 20th, 2006 We've been having a lot of concerns regarding the crash Randy was involved in last night. Randy if just fine, a bit sore but really in great shape after the hard flip he took last night. The guys in the 3rd row collided and started that chain reaction effect and unfortunately Randy like 11 other guys had absolutely no place to go. It was like Talladega with the stock cars. 12 cars were involved and so bad that 7 of those were unable to return. Randy's car is total junk but Randy is fine and that's really the only important thing. So tonight we head to Tucson and hope for a positive run after last nights disappointing events. Secondly our team sends out condolences to the Ted Johnson family. He passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer and he's now going to get sprint car racing in heaven straightened out. Ted was the pioneer for the World of Outlaw sprint series, The Greatest Show on Dirt by far and without him sprint car racing would not be what it is today. RIP Ted and our deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family. October 14 - Updates: Weather was a bit chilly at Wilmot but that didn't stop a ton of die hard race fans from catching one of the most exciting shows this year. Randy was one of the last cars to qualify but still turned in a respectable 11th place qualifying time, won his heat race and had yet another top ten finish after crossing the stripes in 7th position. KNOXVILLE RACEWAY 3RD A-MAIN FEATURE FINISH With a new power plant under the hood of the 1X Penthouse Magazine/Terry Hannagan Racing entry, Randy had a great weekend. He qualified 9th and won the Dash by a half lap and started on the pole of the feature. The track took rubber and makes it hard to pass on but that didn't keep the race from being exciting with lots of action coming from Randy, Dollansky and Schatz. Randy would get a podium finish with a 3rd place run. He was quite happy with his results with his new motor from Don Ott Engines. Our next race is scheduled for this coming Saturday at Wilmot, Wisconsin so keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds up. Randy was victorious at that track last year in an IRA event held there. Great track, very race and it would make a great show for the fans. Hope to see you all there. August 15-October 4 Finally we have gotten a chance to work on this site. We were so good about getting it updated weekly but then we hit the road for the summer and it's been non-stop ever since. As many of you know, we now have a merchandise trailer. That has been fun to see how many folks we can get into Penthouse gear. And the Ladies stuff we had gotten in for the Nationals just flew off the shelves and was ever so popular. Not too mention the kids and babies stuff we went through, of course without the Penthouse logo for obvious reasons :)) Thanks to all of you who have supported or efforts to bring Penthouse the attention they deserve. As for the racing. It's been fairly decent. It's been a few peaks and valleys and we are looking forward to winding down the season because our biggest battle this year has been Randy's Mom's illness. That has effected Randy, the team and there's a lot to be said about family. Margie seems to be winning the fight against that ugly disease. What started out as lemon size cancer is shrinking and remarkably down to only pea size. We continue to pray for her and hope that you can do the same as she's by no means out of the woods. Updates have been made to the schedule, complete with results. They are up to date through the Williams Grove weekend. Eeks, what a tough place to race. We didn't fair to well all weekend and in the end it was motors that gave us fits and we hurt a motor. After Knoxville we started out on a month long journey that took us to Black Hills Speedway. What a great crowd you all were. One of the most enthusiastic crowds and so happy to set through a torrential downpour and still remain happy to be there. Kudos! Not a bad night for the Penthouse/Maxim either. Randy was able to win his heat race and finish 5th in the feature. On to Minot, ND! Sell-out crowd and was a great night as Randy was running 5th and coming around for the checkers he blew a tire and was just shy of crossing the start finish line thus netting him a 12th place finish instead of another top 5 run. We finally got a break from the heat by heading to Skagit in Washington. It seemed he just couln't find the right combo but was 14th on prelim night and 8th in the A-Main on the final night. Who can complain about a top 10 with these group of guys. Wow what a race we had at Southern Oregon Speedway. You could throw a blanket over the top 10 cars at the finish and we were in it and crossed the line in 7th. One of the most exciting races of the year. Ah, finally home to California for Randy. Me being from Ohio, California is like a whole other world out there and we who are used to walking across the street to the bean fields get an eye opening when we hit the state line. We first got to visit beautiful Napa Valley home of Calistoga Speedway. This is probably Randy's home track if I were to guess. Only 1 1/2 hours from San Jose. Night one was awesome. He had 2nd quick time and almost got locked into Saturday nights main as he had a heated battle going with Saldana and we settled for 5th on night one. Night too was a heartbreaker. He qualified terrible, later we figured out the problem when on the 2nd lap of the A-Main he blew a motor. Chico Gold Cup, what an event. 3 days of racing with a very excited crowd. Randy has had some success here in the past and looked to repeat. He was 8th in qualifications until he was told that he was too loud. Yes, too loud, the best he could be then was 17th and he would start the feature in 18th spot and bring home yet another top 10. He had Friday off as he was locked into the feature already as he had amassed enough points to garner a spot in Saturday nights A-Main. On the first lap there was a crash and he had to duck into the pits for some adjustments and repairs. He then went back out, starting 25th and worked his way back up and finished 13th. Not what he had planned for but better then 25th where he had to re-start. In between the California races, Randy got to visit his family. It was some nice quality time spent there and just long enough for Mason to cause havoc in the Hannagan household. Stay tuned as we have a few races left to run this year. On the agenda still is Knoxville, Wilmot, Manzanita, Tuscon and of course Vegas. Stay tuned as we hope to have some changes and things to announce in the coming weeks. Of course thanks to those loyal fans, you are appreciated and so glad your a part of our racing.
June 27 - August 14 We are sorry to say that we have really been slacking on this website as of late. As many of you have seen, the team is now supporting a merchandise trailer. The web builder is also the person that works the trailer as well as takes care of Mason and Randy. So there has been very little time for us to update the site because since the Kings Royal we have done a ton of racing. It's been and up and down last month and a half. Randy is 11th in points but the car is 8th, if Randy would have not missed those 6 races he would be sitting 8th. We are just heading out of Knoxville from the Nationals. That was a major disappointing week for sure. Randy was 4th fast qualifying and found himself with no luck going his way and got in the absolute toughest heat race of the week. At the end he finished 8th in the B-Main and not what he had hoped for. We are headed to the Dakotas for two races and then will be going west where Randy is on familiar turf. Stay tuned.......

June 6 - June 26 Since Randy's return to racing after being with his sick Mother in California he has been doing quite well. We got a new sponsor which will be "officially" announced the first of July and he's been very consistent in his runs. His first race back was Eldora where he saw a 7th place finish on a rough track. The next day it was off to Terre Haute and that night was not so great as he suffered a blown engine in time trials and just couldn't make it from the tail of the B-Main to a transfer spot, one spot shy in 5th. It was then on to Eagle where he finished 8th on the first night and got crashed the second night while he was running in the 6th position. He then headed to Powercom Park in Wisconsin where he once again ran 8th in the feature. Then off to Fargo, North Dakota where he seemed to be on a roll. He was fast both nights and the track was ultra fast both nights. The first night he had a fuel line broken off by a huge rock ending his night while running 7th. The second night he set quick time in qualifying, again won his heat race and finished 7th in the feature event. Just this past weekend he was in Knoxville where he brought the THR 1x car home in a 6th place finish. Up next is Wichita, Dodge City and Huset's, lets hope he can continue his streak of top 10 finishes. May 22 - June 6th Wow, these past few weeks have been very trying for Randy and the entire Hannagan family. Randy's Mom, Margie is battling cancer and Randy was summoned home to be with Margie who took a turn for the worse. However, Margie has at least gotten a bit better, she still is in a huge fight against her cancer but improved enough that Randy could come back home and get back to what is familiar to him. So comforting at a time like this. His first race back was his favorite track, Eldora. He had a nice run with a 7th place finish. The next night at Terre Haute was not great. In hot laps it seemed he was okay, not fast, but not bad. He went out to qualify and as soon as he took the green you could hear the motor making a funny noise, sure thing, it blew up. That would place him next to last in qualifying. He started the last row of the B-Main and really tried hard and just missed transferring at the line. Disappointment but now he will look ahead to a two day show at Eagle next week. May 22 **As many of you have heard, Randy had to return to California to be with his Mother today. She has been battling cancer and has taken a turn for the worse. Randy is the absolute family man and his only option was to cease his racing and return home immediately to be by his Mother's bedside. He does apologize to his fans and sponsors for leaving so abruptly. Randy hopes that you are all understanding in this matter and hopes to return to the track soon. I can't say at this time when we can expect him back but the most important thing now is his Mother. If you know Randy you know that his family is his #1 priority and he is a loving son who is there to support is ailing Mother. Please keep Randy and his family in your thoughts and prayers, they would all appreciate it very much. If you need to contact Randy, please do so via email at thr_1x@yahoo.com For mailings, please send them to: Randy Hannagan, 514 Nerdy Ave., San Jose, CA 95111 May 5-8 Not quite the weekend Randy had hoped for, major disappointment for him and the team. Friday started off with quick time in hotlaps, to 23rd qualifying, a transfer in his heat and an 18th place finish in the main. Saturday was rained out at Wichita so he headed to Knoxville, one of his favorite tracks. Better as he qualified 8th out of 46 cars and finished 4th in his heat and wound up 14th in the feature after being run over on the start by a fellow competitor. Sunday night at Huset's found him crossing the stripes in 14th position. Next weekend we head to Ohio where Randy has had success in the past and hopefully this weekend will be no exception. Attica on Friday and KC Raceway on Saturday where he finished 5th with the World of Outlaws at the end of last season.
Great show on The Outdoor Channel last week. Hope you all got to catch it on television.
April 21-22, 2006 Friday night Mother Nature won at Lawrenceburg. This event has been rescheduled for July 7th. Saturday night was off to one of Randy's favorite tracks, Eldora. They went with the wrong tire in qualifying and was 14th. Not where he would have liked to be. He ran 2nd in his heat race and started 14th in the feature. It was an exciting race as he quickly began picking off cars. Too bad he had to start so far back in the pack, he was coming and could have used a few more laps since he had to come from so far back. He crossed the checkers in 5th place and a fine run from back there. April 14, 2006 A quick trip from home is Haubstadt, one of Randy's favorite tracks. His night went something like this. Good, Bad, Good, Very Bad. Hot laps were good, he was fast. He banged the wall in qualifications and ouch, ended up 19th with only 16 cars inverted for the heats. He'd have to start 7th but quickly moved up to a transfer position. Mission accomplished. He had to start 19th in the feature and he was on a mission for sure by working his way all the way up to 7th and with 3 laps to go there was a red flag and he was informed he had a flat right rear. He'd have to go to the work area and get it changed but would fall to the end of the field. He brought the THR #1 home in a very disappointing 14th spot. No luck at all this weekend. Next weekend we are off to Lawrenceburg and Eldora. Randy will rebound and hit next weekend hard. April 7-8, 2006 ~~ Eldora It was a long cold weekend at Eldora. Randy didn't have a great weekend but did make the feature event both nights which has allowed him to now jump into the top 10 in World of Outlaw points. Right now he stands 9th and we know it's a long year. He finished 18th both nights and with a constant battle with the motor. Next week we are off to Haubstadt where he has had some good runs in the past. Batesville & Pevely Updates It had been a nice break for the THR racing team. They were fresh and ready to get back on the road. Friday at Batesville the motor was smoking in hotlaps but that was attributed to oil over flow in the tank. Well, the motor ended up blowing up during the heat race, guess we knew why he qualified 26th. The ponies weren't quite up to speed. He did transfer via the B-Main and that found him 24th on the starting grid. With a fresh motor he was able to race his way up to the 12th spot. After all of the problems, not the worst night. Pevely started off good but the end result was not what was hoped for. He qualified 4th quick and found a one groove race track in his heat race. The track was dry and slick and he was hung out on the heat race start and could never get by so he would run the B and finish second, where he started. The feature he started 12th and between the features he made some changes that just never worked and he finished 15th. Not the weekend he had hoped for so we will scratch those off and move to next weekend where Randy heads to his favorite track, Eldora! March 8-9, 2006 LAS VEGAS UPDATES Viva Las Vegas! The lights were shining bright and lady luck on Randy's side during his recent trip to Las Vegas. He won a few Texas Hold' em Tournaments and had a really great visit to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We keep telling him that if racing doesn't work out for him he could just move to Vegas and play poker for a living. His first night to Vegas was a good one. He qualified 12th and finished 2nd in the dash which would place him outside of row 2 for the feature event. The track was dry and slick and you didn't dare to get out of line or you'd drop a position. Randy did well and brought the #1x Terry Hannagan Racing entry to a 3rd place podium finish. The second night of Vegas was a very cold, chilly and snowy night. It did not however damper Randy's performance. He qualified 9th this night and would run 3rd in the dash to start him outide of row 3 this night. His car worked well all night long and the race track was the best it has ever been. There was passing high, middle and low and this allowed Randy to work his way up to 4th spot. He turned in the second quickest lap of the night and he was a bit disappointed with his run as he felt he should have been a 2nd place car. He will settle for 4th, almost another podium finish. Now he is in a chase to catch back up in the points since his disasterious trip to Florida. He's currently moved up to 12th and is closing, now he just needs to keep this up. Out of the last 4 races he's had a 3rd, 4th and 5th place finish. He's put Florida behind him now and will look to continue his streak of top 5 runs on the 31st of March in Batesville, Arkansas then the next night he will be at Pevely, Missouri where he picked up a World of Outlaw victory there in 2001 and won a race there last year with the MCCS series. March 3-4, 2006 Manzanita / USA Raceway Updates Randy had a nice rebound from Volusia on Friday at the Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, AZ. He turned in a 9th place qualifying effort, a 2nd place heat race finish, 3rd in the Dash and that placed him 6th on the grid for the feature. He fell back a few spots at the start but really brought it on in the end and drove the 1x Terry Hannagan Racing sprinter to a 5th place finish. That moved him up for a disappointing 22 place in points to 14th. Saturday night at Tucson started out well with a 4th place qualifying effort. Well, the track was super narrow for the dashes and they were completely inverted so he had to start in the last row and finished 6th starting him 11th on the grid. They went the wrong way with the tire and put on a very hard compound tire and fell back to 18th by the end of the night. With some luck of others, he had now moved into 12th in points. We now look on to Vegas where Randy has had some good runs but some very bad luck. So far his week in Vegas has been good, he won a Texas Hold'em tournament at the Excalibur and his son a motorized Razor Motorcycle at Circus Circus. Maybe his luck will turn around Thursday and Friday nights. February 8-13th Well, it wasn't the best of weeks for the Terry Hannagan Racing team and Randy. The week started off on a terrible note with a blown motor on night one in the heat race. The second night was sort of a test and tune night with a new motor. He did race his way into the feature via his heat race but after 3 laps pulled in the pits on his own doing because his main objective was to make sure motor number two was going to run flawless. Night three was the first World of Outlaw event of the 2006 year. Out of 38 qualifiers, Randy was dead last to qualify and if you were there or seen the qualifying order and the way the cars qualified you'd see the track got slow with each car. Unfortunately with his luck he was last out and that proved to be a bad pull because the track was a one groove, no passing zone the entire night and Randy failed to transfer to the main event. The second night of the World of Outlaw event was going better. He qualified 14th, was 2nd in the heat and 2nd in the dash which placed him 4th starting spot in the feature. Well, guess lady luck was not on his side this week because at the start of the feature event an altercation with a fellow driver sent Randy spinning down the track while collecting other cars. Randy flipped and was hit several times which ended his redemption night quickly. He did get an apology from his fellow driver which proves there are still gentlemen racers in the world. To the hateful message board posters on Randy's performance, shame on you. Good news is that Randy isn't phased by the comments as much as I am. Says he felt even after his week from h*ll he was fast and knows that although his standings in the points and his finishes in Florida don't show it, he will be fine the rest of the year and is confident that it was just that, a week from you know where. So we will forget that week ever really happened and since we have about 3 weeks off, it's like starting all over again. Author:Chris Dolack, VP Public Relations Randy Hannagan is back. Not that he ever strayed too
far away, but in 2006 Hannagan returns full-time to the World of Outlaws Sprint
Series, where in 1995 he was the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. October 1 - November 7, 2005 It was a whirlwind month of ups and downs and great future hopes for Randy and the Terry Hannagan Racing team. Our journey started in Dodge City, Kansas. Randy had good qualifying efforts and the first night had a good starting spot only to get run off the track and had to battle back for the position that he got. 2nd night he blew a right rear tire, destroying the wing, brakes as well as other things ending his night. Our next journey was to Manzanita in Phoenix to complete a rainout from March this year. Randy had a super run with a 12th place starting spot and quickly worked his was through the field and finished a very respectable 6th. We then headed to Tulare, CA for the 2 day WoO show. This weekend and the next weekend at Vegas was hampered with stressful problems. Tulare started out with a good qualifying effort and a good heat race. Feature time caught him in a scuffle with Lasoski ending his night. The next night the track was heavy and with his early qualifying run he was never able to get going. Vegas pretty much went the same way, he made both shows, won a heat race but never quite got going due to a bad brake rotor/caliper that was locking up and it appeared that was the problem both nights and we didn't know that until we got back here to the shop in Indy. So a bummer at that. The last race he ran for friend, Walt Branco at the 360 Trophy Cup back at Tulare. 1st night he was running 3rd in the feature when a guy spun in front of him and collected him which sent him to the back of the shoot and he drove his butt off to get back to 7th at the checkers. The next night was all on points from the night before which he was 5th and after a bad heat race start on the officials part he dropped back to 10th in points. The feature once again was a mess with cars spinning in front of him, this time he had no where to go and the rear end of the car was destroyed ending his night. As many of you know Randy has signed on with the World of Outlaws for next year and we look forward to bringing you a press release soon! September 27, 2005 Randy ventured to the KC Raceway to compete with the World of Outlaws for their last Ohio appearance of the year. It proved to be a worth while trip for the whole team. He qualified 11th out of 40 cars on hand, finished 4th in his heat race to advance his THR 1X machine to one of the starting line up dashes. He would up 4th in the dash which placed him 7th on the starting grid for the feature event. Earlier in the year he started 16th in an All Star race and raced his way to 3rd place so Randy so he certainly knows how to get around this high banked track. 40 laps to get to the front of the pack and he did get up to 2nd for a lap while battling with Myers and McCarl before finishing 4th overall. A fine run, his best with the World of Outlaws this year. He did run 5th at Lernerville with them earlier this year. His last several World of Outlaw races have been good ones so we say to Randy, keep it up! Many of you have been asking, what's our plans for next year and we can say to you to please check back in in about a week when we will be issuing an official press release regarding this matter. September 23, 2005 What a wild night it was at Lernerville for the last All-Star Sprint Car race of the year. There were 48 cars on hand and Randy was the best in qualifications. He transfered to the feature via his heat race and was the man to beat all night long. He took home the Hallmark Dash as well. All-Stars invert the top 6 cars for the feature which had Randy starting 6th. At the drop of the green flag, the pole sitter spun in front of the field and so Randy went high to miss him and got run over by a fellow competitor. He want straight to the pits with a flat right rear and both wings destroyed. With the help of many other teams crews guys they got Randy back on the track but he would have to go to the tail. With 3 provisionals put in the field, there were 27 cars starting so he had a ton of cars to pass in 35 laps. He did a wonderful job of getting back in the top 10 and brought the THR #1 sprinter across the stripes in 8th place. This was a major disappointment because he was the car to beat all night long. Any of you in racing know that this is how it goes sometimes. Randy was a victim of inexperience on the pole sitters part which cost him another win. September 2-4, 2005 "The Ups & Downs of the Sharon Nationals" Well, one can say that it was the weekend that got away! Friday the team traveled to the Sharon Nationals. Feature time was exciting with Randy leading the first12 laps and looked to be checking out on the rest of the field when under a yellow the officials noticed that his muffler had fallen off. This resulted in a disqualification and ended Randy's bid for win #7. Absolutely heartbreaking! He ended up 22nd. Come Saturday night of the 2 day show at Sharon, Randy once again found himself on the front row for the 40 lap main event. He got off to an early lead and led the first 30 laps of the feature. There was a constant battle with Stevie Smith and this would prove to be costly on his tires. Once Smith got by, Randy continued on in 2nd when on lap 37 Smith blew and engine and Mark Smith was battling and got underneath him with only 2 laps to go. With no tire left, he would have to settle for 2nd place. This too was heartbreaking as he felt that #8 got away from him. Try telling Randy to be optimistic. Better yet his Father who was quoted as saying, "1st is 1st, 2nd is Nothing." Jim is always full of it and we liked that statement so much it's become our team motto! Thanks Jim! Sunday was a visit to Southern Ohio to Brushcreek. Not the best of runs for Randy where he started deep in the field (16th) and brought home the Terry Hannagan Racing #1x to the 8th position. We have a rare weekend off and will then head to the Lawrenceburg Speedway the following weekend. August 19, 2005 Make that victory #4 for Randy over the weekend! He made a first time visit to the Kenosha County Fair race with the IRA Sprints in Wisconsin. He had a clean sweep of the night with a quick qualifying time (New Track Record as well, that is 2 NTR's in less then a week!) he also won his heat race and ah, did we mention the big event of the night as well. It was sure a tough fought 30 laps. On the start, Randy got held up a bit and fell back to 5th spot from his original starting spot of 4th. He patiently raced around the 3rd and 4th place guys to put him in 2nd. There were only a handful of laps left and the lapped traffic was proving to be a factor in the last 5 laps of the race. Randy made a charge with 1 lap to go, through lapped traffic, down the back stretch, on the high side with him, 1st place runner and a lapped car all thrown in that mix. In the 3rd corner, Randy passed for the lead on the high side and held off a hard charging Kurt Winker. I have to say something about the crowd on hand. They were so full of cheers and excitement throughout the night. Also very welcoming of Randy and many said thanks for stopping to race there. There was a steady line of autograph seekers and we even handed out some kids temporary tatoos to the little race fans. Thank you Kenosha Fans, we hope to see you next year. August 10 - August 16th Randy made it through another Knoxville Nationals this year with better results then he had last year. His qualifying night was Wednesday and with 55 cars on hand for the night Randy turned in a 9th place qualifying time. With this time he would have to start 9th in the heat (10 cars inverted for the heats) which makes it so you have to be super racy to make the Feature. Randy was able to quickly work his way through traffic and transfer via a 3rd place heat race finish. He had a strong 5th place run in the Prelim Feature. After both nights of Prelims he was 8th overall in points out of 120 some cars for the week. Friday he raced in the Clean-O World Challenge race which he was eligible for by racing in Australia this past year. He tried a few things with his set-up and a new motor to see what combo he liked better for the Big Night. He finished 8th in the Challenge race after starting 16th. He was locked into the Knoxville Nationals Saturday night program as well as the A-Scramble. (If you have never been to the Nationals, you race a lot and everything is based off of points so you want a lot of them :)) The A-Scramble found Randy 6th at the finish line which did not change his starting spot for the A-Main. He would have to wait an extra day to run the big race as Saturday's festivities were washed out due to rain. He would start 8th in the Nationals and stayed there until lap 24 when on a re-start his tire sealed up and he quickly fell back to 16th. A major disappointment, he was not the happiest driver in the pits but we are glad he made the BIG RACE again this year, a lot of drivers went home and will have to wait until next year for another shot. All in all it was a great week and if you can tell, the new Gaerte Engine is performing wonderfully as his results since he got the motor has shown that he's back on level ground with the rest of the teams. For complete results, visit www.knoxvilleraceway.com August 15th the team made their way to Mayetta, Kansas for an All-Star race. Randy set fast time and broke the old track record as well as won the All-Star Dash. He looked to be the man to beat in the feature. He started 6th next to Kemenah and at the drop of the green Kemenah got a bit out of shape and started to flip while collecting Randy. Just one of those racing deals but after a lengthly red, the crew was able to semi repair the car and Randy was able to make it back out and garnered a 6th place finish from the rear. So not a total loss. August 16 and our last stop before making the trip back to the shop found us at McCool Junction, Nebraska. Superb facility and track! Kudos to the owners for having such a nice place to race. Randy again set quick time and won the dash. He started 6th in the feature and managed to bring it home in 5th place. The track was super fast and no passing except for a few cars here and there but the overall finish was about how they started the race. Either way, it was another top 5 finish and 2 quick times in a row! August 3 - August 6 Whew, what a week! Wednesday we headed to Lawrenceburg, Indiana to compete with the World of Outlaws. Randy was 3rd to last to qualify, ouch, and he ended up 23 in qualifying. He had to start 8th in his heat race but quickly raced his way into a transfer spot. During the feature he raced his way from 22 up to 12 before sealing a tire and fading back to 18th at the checkers. Thursday a visit to one of his favorite tracks, Eldora Speedway for the big Mopar Thunder weekend. It was an All Star sanctioned event and Randy has been very successful at that track with the All-Stars. Tonight was the same result his 3rd win of the season. Click this link to read the exciting article via the All Star page and here to view photos by Jim Fisher Photos. Friday started out nice with his 7th place qualifying run, his heat race was a miss with a car that was ill-handling and he missed the transfer to the main and would have to run the B-Main to get into the big show. On lap 9 of 12 he and Jason Meyers had a scuffle which ended Randy's night with a bent frame and a bent ego by the actions of his fellow driver. Not much else to say on this night. Saturday night it was back to Butler for a makeup race that was rescheduled from last weekend due to the tragedy of an explosion which claimed the life of Rudy Corsini a track worker. He was honored and donations were given to his family to help ease some of their financial burden they will now be faced with. As Rudy would have wanted, the show went on and we raced in his honor. Randy qualified 10th, won his heat race which entitles him to having the most All Star Heat Race wins this year (6 Total). He started 10th in the feature and by the end of the 40 lap event he crossed the stripes in 4th. Nice move up through the pack and almost nipping the 3rd place car at the end and what a race it was to the end. More results can be see at: All Star Sprints | ||||||||||
